Thanks Will, I cant wait to put this one through her paces!

Thanks Swagger! Yeah I'm on the good ship San Juan now and just took over as ALPO.  Life has been crazy since I got here..

Since I got the Rubi 2 weeks ago I put on an intake, TBS, evap skid, some interior creature comforts, and now I'm waiting on the software update for my Trinity tuner.  Aside from that, more funds will be available soon so I'm trying to decide on 35's or 37's and 3.5 or 5.5 lift... ;D

A 3.5" lift with longer bump stops and flat fenders would work for 37's with 4.5" backspaced wheels.

A good friend of mine is leaving our shore duty very soon to come be the new LS1 for you guys there.  He's a real good guy.

I'm trying to decide on 35's or 37's and 3.5 or 5.5 lift... ;D

You might want to consider going 35's vice 37's.  You can get by with the stock 4.10's and 35's, but its going to be pushing it to go 37's with the 4.10's.  I'd also consider the 3.5" lift over the 5.5".  Keep the center of gravity low.  Like Will said, get some flat fenders and bump stops and you'll be good.

I put on the Tera Flex 2.5" coils and shocks, Xenon flat fenders and 4.5" BS wheels, 35's fit no problem, I'd bet I could fit 37's with longer bump stops and some pinch seam trimming.

Yea, skid plates allow you to spend future $$$ on upgrades instead of repairs.

I knew we were gonna get a new LS1 soon, I hope hes good, agang always needs parts!!  ;)

Yeah, every article I've read so far said stick with the 35's and 3.5 or less lift, anything more than that and you open a whole new can of worms (axle and gear problems, steering, CoG, etc, etc)  Im getting a roommate after this weekend so i can spend more money on her!  :D  im always ready to upgrade stuff over repairing it!

whats up KP, long time, no see!  i miss the TJ but i love the JK!!

As Will said.  "Skid Plates"  "Skid Plates" "Skid Plates". Get the PollyPerformance Compleat Skid Plate System. There Extreamly Heavy Duty!
Also very imporant is that Evap canister. Don't bother getting a skid plate for it but rather get a relocation kit that puts it above the rear axel where it belongs. There are several Kits out there. I went with the Kilby kit & was pleased with the results. Only thing the kit did not provide was several hose clamps that I feel are needed for a good seal on the hoses so you don"t get a Check engine light. Installed mine 3 months ago & no light yet.
Another thing is the Steering stabilizer. It hangs low on the JK's. Just ask Will. I took his advice & got a relocation bracket to move it higher to keep it away from the rocks. I did read on JKowners Form that 2010 & up Jk's have an updated steering stabilizer that is mounted higher but don"t no if this is true. If not then Get R Done.
All 3 mods nessisary to start bashing that Jk Rubi through the rocks.

ps: I hear the rims break easy. Don't ask!!!   I just no!!!

ok, the evap skid is on and i dont think its goin anywhere!!  :o  I just ordered an exhaust cause i missed hearing a little exhaust note while driving, some daystar hood latches cause watching my hood flutter in high wind is unnerving to me, the skid row offroad oil pan/tranny skid, and picked up a high lift extreme from a local shop up here.

When i Hi-line my fenders, i'm going to put hood pins on.  These cheap-=o rubber latches leave a little to be desired when your hood is shaking and bouncing furiously off the mechanical under hood latch.  C-note, you cited it exactcly on point, unnerving.
