Pistol Permit
« on: November 25, 2009, 03:56:36 AM »
Anyone interested in doing a Pistol class in the next couple of months? might help to get the cost down. I'm going to be getting in touch with a guy out of N. Stonington and one from Oakdale in the next few days, so I'll post whatever info I find out then.

I wish I could, but I think i have to have a Connecticut license to be in the class out there. My church offered a pistol permit class this past spring that i missed. They had 22 people get their permit to carry concealed.

I got my ct ccw last month. I put in the paperwork/did the class in october. I guess maybe because Thanksgiving,Christmas & New Years were all in between is why it took so long. I didn't know at the time I did mine, but Hoffmans gun center in Newington offers a Utah permit & class. You can get a non resident Utah ccw that is good in 29 states. The class is $100 & held every Tuesday evening. Here's a link. I also just bought a gun from hoffmans.

I may have to look into that Utah permit since it is good for Michigan.

If you read the fine print, a CT Pistol Permit is required to get the Utah one.

turned in my paperwork today to the trooper, he says in 4-6 weeks ill have my temp permit which gives me 60 days to get to the barracks to get my blue card/permit. I need this to get full pay at my new job, so I'm hoping asap.
