lost. . . .

So on top of needing new brake lines on the aspire, the speedometer had quit.  Turned out the speed sensor's shaft (mechanical speedometer) siezed and the nylon gear sheared off.  When I pulled the sensor out, i tried to grab the gear w/ the one finger i could reach inside.  I bumped it deeper into the tranny (the sensor inserts from the top). :(  Anyone have an idea of how to get it out w/o pulling the tranny out (again)?  Anyone have a boroscope so i can find the bugger?

Or, will a nylon gear just float around and not casue any problems?

Or, will it just get chewed up by the syncros/etc and come out in the next fluid change?

I really don't want to pull the tranny out, again.  FWD cars are the worst :(
