fender flares PT II
« on: August 11, 2009, 02:47:47 AM »
Since R.J.'s fender flair post is up to page 143 or something like that, I decided to start a new one with my YJ fender flair trimming.  After denting the rear wheel well after stuffing my 35 's into it like this:

I gained 1.5 inches from the back half of the rear wheel opening.  I trimmed about 1 1/4 of metal off and then used a pair of channel locks and a hammer to bend a 1/2" lip like the factory did.  I then cut the inner rubber fender well and used a heat gun to mold it back into the newly formed lip I made.  I Drilled two new holes in the flair and the body since the old holes were cut out.  A little spray on truck bed liner and you can't even see all my hard work. ;)

I thought the 1" body lift would keep the tires from rubbing, but I was wrong, hopefully this works. :P

Owning a CJ is for manly men, they allows you to do manly stuff like auto mechanics and welding and drinking beer. Manly men own CJs. Manly men do not drive hummers, they receive them.

dont' brag; you need to adjust the white ballance and your exposure.

:)  dont' worry, that would be a hard shot to get right, esp w/o an SLR and some filters.
