Since you actually have something else to drive, why wouldn't you replace all of them at once? Remove the axle, grind it nice and smooth and then properly relocate the new heavy duty brackets? I'll be honest, I can't weld upside down very well at all...and I know it doesn't have to be beautiful but it DOES have to be strong since it's a major suspension link, I wouldn't feel comfortable doing a half ass weld on it just to save some time......
