I don't think non c-clip D35s were used after 1990 or 1991. When I removed shafts in my D44 it was very difficult to get them to budge. It took a couple hits with a hammer to break them free and then they slid out, but I would double check for c-clips if I were you.

Dana 35's were never made with disc brakes, sounds like the crappy D44 that came with the GC's.  I am guessing you pulled the discs and the bolts that hold the axle shafts in place.

That's what I'm thinking. You probably have a D44a, which is aluminum.

Napa listed 2 options for the rear axle when I went there last night, spicer 35 and 44.  There were 2 bearings in each box, and they had the same part num for each axle.  Sucks that the wheel bearing went out in your jeep and you werent able to  get out to here to use the press.  Good luck with both repairs.
