Semi-Quick Fender Flare Disconnects
« on: July 25, 2008, 10:30:11 PM »
So I was sitting there wishing I could take those big ass fender flairs off and put them back on quickly, cause I'm pretty afraid I'll rip one off like Cheeks did. Then I remembered a fastner we used at my old factory.

http://www.emhart.com/products/pop/popnuttk.asp is the type that never comes out, but you almost need a special too to get it in. Johnson's hardware sells a rubber version, called a rubber rivet nut http://www.tradingmap.cn/userupload/20080410/prod_22797_20080410151214.jpg.

All I had to do was drill out the holes so they would fit, now I can take them off in about 5 min, and put them back on in about 10. If you've got any questions let me know.

that's pretty cool...  I wonder if I can get that to work for my hard top?  especially the top of the windshield frame.
