Headers for 00-06 TJ's!!!
« on: January 03, 2008, 09:25:39 PM »
Finally!  What I have been looking for is now available!  Little pricey but that is the cost you pay to get what you want.

What do you mean finally, I helped a kid do that on his TJ last year like in august I think, however, they wern't borla, he got long tube headers from sombody and a whole exhaust kit, we just bolted it all on, it was real nice and easy I didn't have to touch the welder or a cutting device.
Lets go see what I can break next

Was it an earlier model TJ?  The earlier models didn't come with those stupid pre-cat's.  That is why Borla has them come in 2 pieces as apossed to 1.  I have been looking for something like this for awhile and couldn't find them.  Everyone that I talked to in garages said the same thing..."They don't make them for the newer TJ's.  You can take the pre cat's off and make it a custom exhaust but then it will be illegal."

So, headers are fairly easy to put one?  I think when I get back from travel I may purchase a pair and I will need some assistance installing them.  Probably at the hobby shop due to cold weather.  Wrenches turn so much easier when I can feel my fingers, that's all I'm saying.

pretty easy, the only thing that really makes it annoying is that the intake and exhaust manifolds share a single gasket, so if you're going to change the gasket (which you should) you have to take off the intake as well.  Fortunately, you can leave most of the vacuum and electrical hooked up, and just sort of flip the intake out of the way while you change the gasket, no need to actually fully remove it.

No, it had the cats just after the exhaust just like those, We did it in like Sep or Oct. And yes we can get it done in about two hours provided your bolts cooperate. but being newer and pretty, we should have a problem out of your roundy and yes get a new gasket.

Not sure but there are two oxygen sensors (if that is what you are talking about) that are just before the pre-cats and if you look at the pic I posted they have the spots for them....here look.

This is how the "Mohrbicon" may sound.  Keep in mind this TJ has flowmaster muffler and flowmaster cat.  I have stock cat and NO muffler!  Aaaahhhh the future is beautiful.
