yeah, cause unless you get it powercoated (i'm guessing  you are going w/ rattle can black), it comes ready to rust!

I can tell you this much from the pictures, it is NOT a 8274.

It'll need some TLC and a new cable or rope.

Do the obvious checks, will it free spool?  Can he hook it up to a battery to show you it works?  Those types of things.

At $250 or even $200 if you talk him down, and then buy a new cable/line which will run between $150-$250 depending on what you get (wire or synthetic). That puts the cost at $350-500, you could almost buy a brand new winch for that much.
