Scott woke me up at 0530 to take me up to bed (man my couch is comfy, never realized that before).
Then Robby and the dog woke me at 0930 when they got up....

Not too bad.

Good stuff.

NOW THIS IS A STORY WORTH TELLING. THIS STORY EXEMPLIFIES GUN
>>>CONTROL AS
>>>IT SHOULD BE.
>>>
>>>Shooting in Butte , Montana
>>>
>>>Shotgun preteen vs. illegal alien Home Invaders Butte, Montana,
>>>November 5, 2006.
>>>
>>>Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26,
>>>probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11 year old
>>>Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home.
>>>
>>>It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in
>>>Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was
>>>nine.
>>>
>>>Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the
>>>front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and
>>>grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.
>>>
>>>Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the
>>>first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the
>>>11-year-old's knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his
>>>abdomen and genitals.
>>>
>>>When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the
>>>left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to
>>>death before medical help could arrive.
>>>
>>>It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45
>>>caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That
>>>victim, 50-year-old David Burien, was not so lucky. He died from
>>>stab wounds to the chest.

I'm not sure what you have available to you on the base, but there isn't much "public" in this area of the state.
There's a nice indoor range in Salem, but they only allow permit holders to shoot there.
There's a good range that will allow both permitted and non-permitted shooters up in Bristol.  Kind of a drive, but it's nice because anybody can attend, and you can even rent weapons there.
I think there may be a few members that have memberships to private ranges in the area, but usually they limit you to 1 non-member guest.

I like the idea though.

I've got quite a collection myself, if we had someplace to shoot them.

I go to several public ranges in the warmer months, but they cost money to go to and of course bring your own guns and ammo. I pay by the hour or day depending on the range and the day. If you can get it arranged for behing the church I can bring both of my guns and my roomate would probably come and if you bought the ammo, he might let you shoot one of his many guns and by many I mean many. But yes, I love going out and blowing the shit out of stuff, aresol can are the coolest espeacially if they are flamible.
Lets go see what I can break next

I can talk to a guy who knows a guy...  I haven't been there in a while.  Like a few months.  I usually go up there on Sundays and shoot bowling pins for cash or IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) matches.  I am a guest myself and not a full member.  Only full members can go there and shoot for practice or whatever.  It's like $80 a year, which isn't bad, but since I only shoot there on sanctioned matches, I never became a full member.  So that being said, I'm not sure what they would say to a whole club trying to get access to the range.  Maybe they would give us a club discount, I'm not sure.  Honestly, it depends on how much interest there is in it.  I'll start a new thread and we'll see what happens.  Oh, and it's up in Norwich, pretty close to where Al lives.

As far as shooting behind the church, I would strongly recommend against it.  With all of the developement they are doing back there, we'll be lucky to have it to wheel with let alone do anything else.  Too many rocks, and too many houses in the area to shoot stuff.  We'd have the cops called on us after the first few shots, guaranteed.
