should i build my own frame or not
« on: July 20, 2012, 09:57:32 AM »
well i am getting ready to do a major over haul on my pos i was going to do it during the 4th of july week but backordered parts got in the way so it did not happen

the swap i am doing i new engine trans transfercase axles springs hell every thing but the body and radatior cap and it is almost to the point where i can keep my rig running and driving for a few mor months if i start from scratch with a new frame and weld the new stuff to it i will be making my own mounts for every thing and replacing every thing so  why do i need an oem frame it will take longer and i will be building it to basically yj or cj7 specs but will i be better off

if i do this i will no longer use stock body mounts but mount the body using the 6 cage tie-ins and adding 2 more plus it will make it easyer to incorperate the boat sides make the flat belly work out and i can start on it next week as soon as i find some plans

hell i just convinced myself to do so i  guessi am building a frame any one got any plans for a yj frame

so you don't get board reading some pics

now

the new future stance but lower

well since i am going to build my own frame and i have started on the design process i have decided to ditch the leaf springs in favor of some 14-16" coilovers or air shocks or ori's depending on what i can get a good deal on so as soon as i finalize the frame and get the drawings to the plazma table i can start parting my shit out
