I've actually had 3 CJ7s. All 3 were 1986 models with the Dana 44 rear axle. One was a complete rust bucket and I never did get it on the road before I bought the blue one so I got rid of it. I sold the blue one when I bought the yellow one.

I just did a wet sanding after I got done rolling the paint on and it turned out pretty well.

Owning a CJ is for manly men, they allows you to do manly stuff like auto mechanics and welding and drinking beer. Manly men own CJs. Manly men do not drive hummers, they receive them.

I just used Rustoleum in a can. It wasn't automotive paint at all. I did thin it with mineral spirits before rolling it on. I don't remember ever having a chip come off after I finished it.

hmmm.... after hearing this maybe i'll roll on some olive drab and make a stencil that says "the duke" to put on the hood where rubicon would normally be put. (the duke is the project name since it has the iron duke engine in it)

http://www.homedepot.com/Paint-Exterior-Paint-Stain-Pool-Marine-Paint/h_d1/N-5yc1vZbly6/R-202041212/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&storeId=10051

it can't much much better i don't think. also don't need primer  ;D figure i'll roll it on like previously mentioned and wet sand it down.
