In orDer to install my new leaf springs i need a 15 degree shims for my pinion angle so if any one has any let me know

kirksjeep:
Wow thats a pretty steep shim.  My RE XD 4.5" kit only came with 4 degree shims and a T-case drop kit.  Even after my SYE and taking the T-case drop I only needed 6 drgree shims.  I have some 6 degree shims you can have, but they are only aluminum since I knew I was going to an 8.8 soon afterwards.

If you need 15 degree shims you are going to need steel ones, which arn't cheap.  Most places I found when looking for mine only sell up tp 6 deg.  15 degree shims would most likely have to be made.

Here is a good tread from Jeep Forum on Shims:

How much lift did you put in?  Did you put in a T-case drop or a SYE?

calvynandhobbs:
Most leaf springs already come with shims built in for the lift that you are putting in. I've never had to buy shims on top of what came already built in.

gearhead1985B:
I bought 2.5 inch springs and i got like 4 inches of lift and the 15 degrees is what i calculated from having to move up the pinion three inches to make the drive shaft line up

A few more questions?
1.  Did you add a T-case drop kit?  or did you put on a SYE?  Anything over 2" requires one or the other.
2.  Are these new or used springs?  Which Brand?

Check out this link for Drive shaft angles:

-For a 4" lift with a SYE/CV drive shaft you will need a 6 deg shim
-For a 4" lift with stock drive shaft and a T-case drop kit you will need a 4 deg shim
-For a 2.5" lift with SYE/CV drive shaft you will need a 4 deg shim
-For a 2.5 lift with stock drive shaft and T-case drop you will need a 2.5 deg shim

I put a 2.5" lift on my Bro-in-law's YJ and at first it sat about 3.5-4 inches but settled to 2.75" after the first time we flexed it.  He has the Rubicon Express (not XD) so it was a good kit.  I would expect your springs to settle.  My 4.5" lift sat at 5" for about 6 months but now is at 4.5 front and 4 1/4 rear (mostly due to the diameter of the 8.8).
