I just picked up a Free 2nd battery and wondering the best possible way to mount them u guys got any ideas on the best way to isolate the two

Buy a kit.  Includes the dual battery trays, and needed wiring.  There might be a few write ups on Jeep Forum, but with the newer Optima sytle batteries they are used less and less.

I concur w/ a kit; much better than jury-rigging some system.  If you need raw amps it can be wired in series w/o a problem.  If you want a back-up or isolated battery, go kit.  Either way, i can help you wire it up.
