Mohawk caravan
« on: August 21, 2009, 06:18:53 PM »
All,

There will be a caravan leaving my house next Friday morning for the Mohawk campground. If you have not been before, I recomend you join us.

We will meet at my place at 0930. Pleas show up gassed up and ready for the 2.5 hour drive. We will stop for lunch/fuel on the way.

If you don't have a CB, you will want one for this trip. A FRS can be used in a bind but makes comms comploicated. I can help install your CB tomorrow, PM me.

I just got off the phone w the campground and they said they didn't have any more sites left but I could put a tent up on one of yours.  Does anybody mind if I pitch a tent(heh heh) on their site?

I won't be able to leave until noon or later. I have to work in New York Monday through Thursday and try to catch up on a few things Friday morning before heading out.

I'll be in the process of checking out of sub school and into NSSC, and I am not planning on being there long, but I don't think I'll be done by 0930.  I might be joining Roger for a second caravan for the way up.

looks like 2 caravans?  one about noon from my place, and the other around 4 or so.

It is a 2.5 hr drive, not including stops (lunch, gas), so keep that in mind.  Anyone who wants to meet me @ myplace, post here.

I'll try to be ready by then, but I won't know for sure until later in the week.

On another note, it looks like we may have another rig going.  My brother in law is going to try and make it up here from MD and join us.  He has a 94 YJ, 2.5" RE lift, 2.5L ( engine replaced with a new one from Quadratech about a year ago),flowmaster, banks headers, roller rockers, bored out throttle body, intake, adjustable map sensor, the rest of the drivetrain is stock.  He is getting some 33" MT's (a guy on craigslist in MD has some w/ 7Kmiles and only asking $250), and I am going to trade him the rims off of my car trailer, and we are going to mount up the TJ flairs I have been holding for him.  He is showing up Wednesday so I'll have some work to get him ready.  I'll make sure he meets all the rig requirements, but from what I remember from his Jeep he should be ok with the exception of a rear tow point, but we can use his bumperetts if needed.  He is going to stay with Jess and I in our tent.  He has done some 4 wheeling, but this will be the most challenging stuff he has tried.  He listens well, and if he doesn't Jess will kick his butt ;).
