Reg's YJ build (pics included)
« on: December 26, 2007, 02:01:46 AM »
Tomarrow morning I'll be doing some small stuff and hopefully getting the thing regestered.  but I'm ready to swap the springs, axles, and t-case into the new jeep.  When would be the best time for those willing to help.  I'm getting the hobby-shop, so we will be dry and warm.  I need either a pickup, or trailer to get the axles on base.  thanks guys.

no sure what's involved with getting my non-military ass, or my truck's non-military ass onto base  (does my truck have an ass?)

but I've taken all of next week off from work, so I'll be looking for fun stuff to do.

I have to work regular days for the rest of this week, then I'm off.

Let me know what works for you.

Standdown will be over soon so everyone needs to pony up so we can help reg get this finished.

Let me know and I will help.

I think all we have to do is park your rig at one of our houses here, and throw you "ass" into one of our sets of wheels and drive you onto the base, if reg is doing this work at the Auto Hobby Shop.  ;)

I think Dauntless (Erik) and Al (?) are the only ones with trucks and trailers anymore.

I think the point was more wondering if/how to get my truck on.

Then, you would have to have one of the guys drive you to Pass and ID at the base gate, sponsor you and your truck onto the base (DL, insurance, registration all need to be up to date), and then you can follow them to the Hobby Shop BUT you have to stay with your sponsor every minute, and they have to escort you off the base. Pain in the ass. Easier to just hop in the passenger seat IMO.

Reg would probably appreciate it either way - the more hands the merrier!

OK... A TIME AND PLACE HAS BEEN SET

all day saturday and sunday. stating @0800 until however late you can stay.

we'll start at my house 28 raintree circle, groton ct.  and then move everything to the hobbyshop in the bed of someone's truck/trailer/ van.  who ever has one of these available this weekend let me know please.  I'll have the front axle free tomarrow so all we have to do is move stuff over.

things planned to swap:

front axle and springs
rear axle and springs
tcase and driveshafts

please start a list so I know how much pizza to buy and drinks to bring... sorry only soda at the hobby-shop.

Scott's crashed on the couch, so I will post for him  ;)

We have a commissioning ceremony at 11am on Sat, so I am sure when he is done with that, he'll probably head over to the HS. Don't worry about feeding him though  ;)
