In light of Eds tube bending abilities  and the fact that my muffler is unwraping itself I ask the question to you guys  "Whats the best exhaust to get for the TJ?"  Now keep in mind I do like loud things(harley rider) and I dont have a money tree in the back yard.  I've seen some in 4wd.com for about $160 but I didnt recognize the name and then theres the ones for $500.  Just interested in your opinions

I'm running a Cherry Bomb Turbo II muffler that I bought for $16.99. I did pay about $50 for the dynomax tailpipe and then the piping in front of the muffler was cheap because I just bought a couple pieces and had a friend of mine weld it all together, eliminating the cat.

You can probably peice it together from sections at autozone, or get the flex pipe for the bends.  turbo muflers start in the $20s.

You could always do like I did and straight pipe it.
By the way, I did infact make it out of the mud...

I have always been a fan of flowmasters.  I ran a 40 series on my old 2.5L and it was too loud for my taste, and I also like it loud ( I run Vance and Hines on my Road King).  I run a 50 series with the 4.0L and I like the sound a lot better.  Nice throaty sound, at idle and when you give it gas, but not so loud on the highway that you can't hear your self think.  A few years back it cost me about $150 for the muffler and a custom bent 2 1/2" tail pipe, installed.  Just my .02 cents.

I'm thinking he means the way Ed bent up his exhaust on the rocks BTC on Sat.  If not, then Ed is my new best friend!

Are you just looking to get a new exhaust because you destroyed yours, or are you looking for a new performance type exhaust? If you are looking just to replace, I have a stock TJ cat-back in my garage. I am sure we can work something out... It only has about 17000 miles through it, so it is all but brand-new.

So my exhaust is rusting away.  All hangers are rotted through and now being held up via clothes hangers and the muffler itself is unrolling on itself.  I appriciate the offer for the stock exhaust but I do think I'd like something with a little more flavor in the sound.

nope i dont have my own bender but i did find a loaner at the middle point up T.I. eh nothing a sawz-all cant fix. sorry steve cant quite recommend to many exhausts. i havent had to research them yet. i do know that ive got a buddy with a catback borla setup and it sounded great but im pretty sure it was pricey. good luck ande when you find something i may be asking you what you like

im running dynomax system with a flowmaster exhaust and the sound is great.  Not to loud in the cab but enough to let you know your driving a jeep.

If I recall correctly from about 8 months ago (when I was looking at buying headers), Borla Headers for a TJ run about $550 and a cat-back system runs about $360.
