Hello all. So Axle left a card under my wiper on the base and I thought I would check out the site. I am interested in becoming a member and getting some trail rides in with my truck. What I have is a 96 dodge ram 1500, reg cab short box, with fabtech 5.5" lift, dana 70 rear, dana 60 front, 4.10 gears, riding on 36x12.5 humvee tires, with a factory 3.2L v8 that has almost a 1/4 million miles on it. Reading through all the rules I meet all the requirements but front tow points. I have all the material to install them but just need access to some welding equipment to get the job done. The base hobby shop has nothing to help me. I have done everything myself to my truck except the tranny rebuild, I left that to a shop to mess with.

Personal information is I am Navy for 10+ years. Currently I am a LT teaching at subschool. I am married with 6 kids. Yes, I did say 6 kids. Thanks to the housing market as it is I am geobach for now but hope to get my family up here some time after new years. My kids all love to go riding in the truck. My wife... not so much but she will come around.

I look forward to hearing from you and meeting some members perhaps at my first event with JT4x4.

James

Welcome James! We have a great group of guys and gals here. You like hanging out with the club. You truck is a bit big for some of the trails we frequent but if you're ok with a little scarring from the trails, you'll be fine  ;D. Welcome again...

Hi James, welcome to the forums. I'm a new guy here too and JT4x4 is a great group to hang with. Sounds like you have some heavy duty stuff in your Ram so you should be fine except for some custom pinstriping you'll get from the narrower trails. I drive an XJ with 229k miles so I'm closing in on that 1/4 of a million also.

Hey James.  That was a nice truck.  I could tell by the spray paint job and dents that she's a trail rig!   ;D  Those are some beefy axles, and the front bumper looks custom.  Did you make that?  It looks darn near bullet proof!

Welcome to the forum! You'll find that there are a lot of good guys (and gals) involved with the club. Granted I haven't met alot of the newer ones, but from chatting with them on the forum, they seem to know what's what. I am an ET1 (radio type) currently stationed in Naples, Italy. My rig is still out there in Ledyard. So with that being said, I probably won't be meeting you for a while. So enjoy the trails and keep the rubber side and the skinny peddle down.
