Don't laugh at me
« on: March 24, 2008, 06:21:54 PM »
I just bought another vehicle.  I'm the (not so) proud owner of a 1997 Ford Aspire.  It gets 38+mpg and will pay for itself in less than 6 months.  Its ugly, green, no PS, but it runs well

mine is the green color

I'll save over $200/mo w/ that thing (at current gas prices).  After 6 months, it's paied for itself!

Its just the first non-fun vehicle i've owned (el camino, camero, 2 YJs, tacoma), and it's ugly

When it dies and is not cost effective to fix, I wanna be the first to drive over it  ;D

Really though, good find. The money you're saving will be worth the jokes about your manhood.

If you don't lift it, at least do the exhaust-out-the-side mod like Hot Rod's taco.  Maybe a snorkel.

I remember the aspire predissesor, the Festiva. I got 40 mpg most of the time and even got 60 mpg on one road trip. I loved my Festiva and jokes and all, you will love the Aspire trust me. I still wish I had the festiva. I Could drive anywhere I wanted to go on like 8 gallons, it was great.
Lets go see what I can break next
