Skip the body shop.
You'll get plenty of body work done in the woods. LOL
You should have front and rear tow points.
Xtra fluids, fire extinguisher, maybe a tire patch kit, your own tow strap. At some point you'll want a good winch, for tools you will slowly learn which ones need.
Holy crap I just looked at your pics, that is one big rig. You may want to ride along with someone 1st. Up here in the Northeast its pretty tight wheeling.

i just got an 88 K5 as well. bought it 2 days ago. im gonna wheel with that instead. it might take a month or so to get things trail ready. i took the burb to the body shop yesterday. most likely wont wheel with it, but the blazer is definitely gonna hit the trails. i dont have any pics of it, unfortunately. its about 6ft shorter than the suburban and has tons of potential.

Well, a K5 will be easier to move around for sure. We have a full size K5 in the club now, my rig is built on a 77 K10 frame, bobbed down 10 inches essentially making it a K5 frame.
