Local Junkyard, Under New Management
« on: October 19, 2017, 03:49:28 PM »
I have a junkyard on my street, Sid's Auto Parts.  In the past they didn't have a good selection or prices (even though I was friends with the old owners son), but they recently got bought out by a towing company out of the Hartford area.  I stopped in earlier this week to check out things, walked the yard with the guy running it now.  So far it seems much improved, he was able to track down a hard to find power steering pump setup for my truck that I haven't been able to get and for a decent price.  They are still trying to bring cars in to fill the lot, the towing company apparently has 3-4 lots up by Hartford with 200-400 cars each waiting to be brought down.  When I was walking around yesterday they have a good amount of superdutys and a few 3/4+ ton chevys.  Looks like it might be a great source for axles, had at least 1 of the 05+ superduty front Dana 60's.  Figured I'd post it up so if anyone was looking for anything, it seems like a good source for parts.
