Hello, finally stopping in
« on: January 25, 2008, 02:03:12 AM »
Hello all.  In case it isn't clear, my name is Erik.  I have used some other screennames that I know some of you would recognize, Trailbst is one.

I got a JT4x4 card on my Jeep, it was from Seabee_buc, thanks for the invite.

I had heard of you guys, for quite a while now.  I was involved in another club.  I have since parted ways with them, amicably.

I met Alex (Rebell Bull) today at the hobby shop.  Talked with him for a while.

Here's my Jeep:

1995 XJ
4.0L, AW4, D30, 8.25 (got the locker, just need to put it in.)
4.5" lift, 315/75/16 GoodYear MT/R (35x12.5x16)

Got questions, fire away.  I've been a Jeeper for 12 or more years.  Been wheeling in New England for 4 or more years, got some stuff to share with you there as well.

Erik

Welcome Erik! Scott (Seabee_BUC) is my hubby, and he told me about seeing your rig on his way to PT *grins* welcome to the forum! Last week I think he said it was?

So tell us more about yourself  :P Where have you wheeled? 4 yrs is a good span of time to get to know the area, so I am sure you have all kinds of trail stories to swap  ;)

We have a great schedule planned for JT4x4 for the upcoming year....check out the bylaws and probie stuff, and we'll see about working you in on a Cruise Night or 2 to use as Meet & Greet! Get to know everyone.....

Let us know if you have any questions about JT4x4 that aren't answered on the forum, let us know, and we'll get you an answer. Glad to see you on here, looking forward to having your participation!

Again.....Welcome to the forum!  8)

Glad to see those damned cards are good for recruiting!!  ;D Welcome to the forum Erik! Keep your eyes on the forum so we can get you out on the trail with us sometime in the near future.

Thanks for the welcomes.

Yes the cards worked, best part about your cards, there is a spot to put the Username of the person who left it, some club cards don't have that.

A little more about me, hmmm, well my first Jeep was a 71 CJ-5.  I had intimate knowledge of that Jeep, and it lead me to learn more about other Jeeps.  I dove in head first and came away with a bit of Jeep knowledge; from what came stock, to history and other stuff.  I bought that Jeep in Jan of 94.  Since then I have had one other 5 XJs and 1 J2000.  I previously had a Red 89 XJ that was lifted, it was on base from 98 to 2002, and now the current.

I haven't wheeled much lately.  Got a few motorcycles and they've been occupying my time.  We'll see what 2008 has in store for the Jeep.

Previously, I was involved as a Trail Guide, Spotter and a member of a Bylaws Committee.  Not that I am volunteering for anything, but I guarantee, I'll be one of the first out of my rig to help spot if asked.

I sound like I'm patting myself on the back, sorry, not trying to brag or boast.

I love the sport in all aspects.  I love being on the trail whether it's driving, spotting or taking pictures.  I once gave up my spot on a run for another member, and was still the Trail Guide, I walked it.  Spotted when necessary.  It was fun.

Anyway, that should be enough about me to last quite a while.

Erik
