One of the reasons we bought the house we did was so I could build one of those crawlers! I can't wait to get back to MS and start planning it out...

Basically, it is a ratio of your wheel base to the distance you got up the ramp before you lifted a tire. If you score 1000, you got as far up the ramp as your wheel base front to back. Less that 1000 means you didn't get as far up as your wheel base, over 1000 means you got past your wheel base. When big yeller was mine and I went to the rally, I scored something like 1250 forward and 963 in reverse.

It was more of a joke, RTI might be a number of how well your Jeep flexes, but it has no bearing on how well it actually works.  A lot of people put a lot of merit into RTI scores, but in real off road conditions RTI numbers don't mean crap.  I have seen several Jeeps that might not have good RTI numbers but have the right tires, tire pressure, traction, driver etc...  Also remember that having a lot of flex can have negative aspects too, just look at the competition rock buggies that use a winch on the front to compress the front end a limit flex for steep hill climbs.

In short it's like saying one car has more horse power then another at a drag race, but it is who makes it down the track first still wins.

Ive unbolted my shackles and my shocks, to get better rti scores, does that mean its better on the trail?  probably not, but i went further up the ramp. rti ramps should be left for bench racing.
