rc 4.5"
« on: August 23, 2009, 11:14:05 PM »
There is a shop ordering rc lifts out here on the island and he said he can get me a 4.5" lift with new leaves for $650 (they're on sale) and since he is doing a big order id only pay $50 for shipping. Should I do it and should I get the shock upgrade or the control arm drop kit or the steering stabilizer?

Owning a CJ is for manly men, they allows you to do manly stuff like auto mechanics and welding and drinking beer. Manly men own CJs. Manly men do not drive hummers, they receive them.

You can do 4.5" without the control arm drop brackets. You'll them or long arms if you go any higher than 4.5" though. I've never noticed a difference between RC regular shocks and their upgraded ones, but I have noticed a difference in their steering stabilizers.

save the money and get the 6.5 inch long arm kit.  skip the short arm kits all together.  and just get the long arm.  do it once and do it overkill.  i can see you jeep now.  all jacked up and on stock tires.  :D

I'm not sure, but I don't think that will meet the DOT rules for Hawaii.

keep the ct reg

Accoding to R.J. it doesn't matter in HI.  Every state I have ever lived in (MD, CA,SC, WA,CT) the soilder and sailer relief act allows you keep your vehicle within the regulations of your home state.   HI is differnt in a lot of ways, so R.J. "might" be right.
