June Trail Ride
« on: June 03, 2009, 01:59:02 PM »
This months trail ride is on the 20th.  This one is on privately owned property in CT, about 1 1/4 hours from Groton.  This property is pretty hardcore, so make sure you are prepared.  The following are the minimum requirements:

33" tires
Full size spare
Tow strap
Tow points front and rear

Recommendations:

Spare parts and fluids for your vehicle
Winch
Lockers
Body and Differetial armor

If you have tires smaller than 33"s, contact Calvinandhobbs for a review on a case by case basis.  If you put your name on here, you will recieve a pm on the meetup time and location as we get closer to the run.

Kirk, we might need to bring your trailer in case his XJ isn't driveable after bouncing it off everything.  ;D

We might need the trailer just to pick up all the parts that seem to come off after bouncing off of stuff ;D

I know she goes, but last time I saw you wheel her a tree claimed your tail light and quarter pannel.  I might need the trailor for my own Jeep, since the last time I weeled it at Ma Bel I managed to break my rear drive shaft and had to do the drive home in 4wd with just the front axle.

i've had front wheel drive jeeps many times.  i've also had to call aaa a few times to get me back.  one trip i blew my rear end, snapped both of my upper control arms in half, bent the lowers, hit a rock and bent my tie rod into a u shape, when the upper control arms snapped it rotated my axle so i blew my front drive shaft.  that was  a good trip.  another time i managed to snap the front output shaft right off a 231 tcase.  AHHH  carnage!!  i won't be in yet till i get the zuki up and running, but ya'all have a great time.
