Is anybody in the club on the USS Hartford?
« on: March 27, 2009, 02:02:56 PM »
I was just reading this article this morning about the USS Hartford and the USS New Orleans colliding in the Straight of Hormuz.

Look for the Hartford pictures on the internet... They are more then lucky! pretty close to putting the scorpion and thresher three section.

I just looked up the pictures. That looks a lot worse than what I imagined when I first read the article about the collision. The sail is completely shifted to one side and seperating from the hull.

the engineering report estimated they took an 80 degree roll, which if correct it is astonishing they didn't end up on the bottom.

Yep, I'm a civilian too. I just went to Google and did a search on USS Hartford. There was more than a page of different sites with the same 3 pictures available for all to see.

That 80 degree roll would be about right for them to hit the RBP. They're gonna have (another) long ride home.
