Buying tires anytime soon??? Read this first!!!

Just came across this. It explains the benefits (based on a LOT of scientific math and physics) of a taller skinnier tire versus a smaller wider tire.  If you read the whole document, you'll find the info is outstanding!!

I've seen that, thats why I was so exited to find the 33by 10.5  in the BFG's

and from my experiences so far I agree with them completely directional controll with the narower tires is great and the way they wrap around things aired down is amzing.

I got hung up on that rock BTC my first time out with you guys when I had my 31 x 10.5's. Rocket had to winch me off. After I got my 33 x 12.5's I had no problem either way from the same angles. I'm not arguing with these guys formulas, I usually have to count on my fingers but my 33's definately made a lot of difference for me!

you are compairing apples and orenges, Bayou, you can't compaire two tires that are different height AND width WRT the artical.  the extra 2 inches (31 to 33) gives you an extra inch in ground clearance.  that can be a big difference.  you got stuck/hung up due to clearance, not lack of traction.

Just my $.02
