Gun Owners Beware...
« on: March 08, 2008, 07:08:26 PM »
*saw this on another forum*

Our great state is trying to screw us again!  Look at these proposals and contact your representative and tell them that you are against these two proposals!  IE what happens if you pick up brass at a range and reload it.  The firing pin can be easily cleaned up.  Criminals will not buy these guns anyway.  This just restricts the law abiding gun owners and creates more bureaucracy that we DON"T NEED!

S.B. No. 603 (RAISED) JUDICIARY. 'AN ACT CONCERNING AMMUNITION CODING', to require that ammunition for handguns and assault weapons manufactured or sold in this state be coded with a unique identifier and that records be maintained of all purchases of the coded ammunition and of the individuals who purchased such ammunition.

S.B. No. 607 (RAISED) JUDICIARY. 'AN ACT CONCERNING THE IDENTIFICATION OF CERTAIN FIREARMS AND THE CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF FIREARMS', to facilitate the linking of used cartridge cases to the firearm that fired them by requiring the microstamping of semiautomatic pistols and to make all the disqualifiers for the possession of a handgun applicable to the possession of a long gun.

Here are links to the language of the two microstamping bills.  they are both bad for gun owners.

They are currently in committee,  here is the contact info for the committee.  It is extremely easy to call and leave a message voicing your opposition.  Just need the bill number which is SB-603 and SB-607
