CJ-7 on HDT's Wheeler Dealers
« on: June 10, 2009, 03:34:29 AM »
Did anyone else catch this weeks episode of British show Wheeler Dealers?  This week was a CJ-7, right hand drive, and only 56K original miles.  They paid 1100 pounds ($2200 USD) for it and put new springs, shocks, seats, steering wheel, clutch master and slave cylinders, 2 new tires, new soft top, chrome mirrors and hood latches, and probably a little more.  In the end they had a little over 3,700 pounds ($7,400 U.S.D) and sold it for 3,900 pounds ($7,800 U.S.D.).  It had some strange U.K. spec lights on the front of the fenders and had covers for the stock grill and fender lights.

The crazy part was the test drive of a well restored CJ-7.  The guy spent 30,000 pounds ($60,000 U.S.D) restoring a Renegade edition.  It looked nice, but not $60,000 nice.

The British accent aways cracks me up, they say stuff like bonnet (hood), hood (roof), oily bits (engine), and cheerio. ;D

I've never even heard of that show. What time does it come on? I work with people from England all the time and have a couple teleconferences a week with my counterparts in Sandwich, England. I've gotten used to the accent, but every now and then they'll throw out a new word that takes me by surprise.

They show repeats all week, but the new episodes come on Tuesday's at 8:00.

Don't forget "Boot" (trunk), or Wanka (not a nice person), or one of my personal favorites, Jog on (go away, you bothering me)!!!
Cheers, mates!
