Ticked Off
« on: November 21, 2008, 06:47:31 PM »
So a couple days ago I called & inquired about my new axle. The freight company said it arrived in ct. & they send it to a local distributer. I got in contact with the local delivery people & we agreed upon a 12 oclock delivery. I had it going to a friends house because he has a garage & i don't. Said friend would be home at lunch so they could drop it off. I received a phone call at 0954 saying they were waiting in the driveway to drop it off but needed someone to sign. I couldn't leave, so they said i could send a fax saying they could release it with no signature. Of course the fax wouldn't go through. So after contacting them again the only resolution they said would be to reschedule for next week. THEY WERE EARLY, I ASKED THEM TO COMPLETE THEIR OTHER DELIVERIES & COME BACK LATER IN THE AFTRENOON & THEY WOULDN'T DO IT. SO I'M LEFT INCONVENIENCED BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO GET DONE EARLY INSTEAD OF THE AGREED UPON FRIGGIN TIME & THEY ACTED LIKE THEY COULD GIVE A DAMN. WTF?!?! >:(

I went through the same thing with Fed Ex and having my bicycle engine delivered. Day one I get a notice on the door knob that they were there at 1345, nobody was home and the delivery needed a signature. I figured the next day I would work from home in the afternoon to get the engine so I go home at 1130 and there is another door knob notice that they were there at 0830 and nobody was home and they would attempt one more try. This time I signed the back of the door knob hanger and left it there so they could drop it off without me being there and the next day I get home at 1600 and the hanger was still there. They didn't get there until 1645 to drop the engine off so I met them this time. I asked the guy if they normally delivered around the same time each day based on their route and he said they normally make their stops within 2 hours in a specific area from day to day, but he gets bored driving the same route all the time so he mixes it up a lot. So now I know I should never expect a delivery from Fed Ex at any particular time of day.

fed ex has the option of pre-signing for a shipment on their site.  you enter your tracking number, print the form, sign it, and leave it for them.  I did that w/ my laptop.  worked fine
