Title: goodby
Post by: mallcrawl on April 28, 2008, 02:59:22 AM
so my trailer is mostly loaded my house is empty and spooky and if some catastrophy doesn't stop me I'll be headed west wensday afternoon

I wish I could have done more with this club, I've gotten very fond of a lot of you very fast and will miss pretty much everyone

the good news is I can still come on the forum and give everyone a bit of hell now and again, I'll try and keep ya'll up to date on where I am so that if some of you end up in the same state again we can go find some trails together.

thanks to everyone for everything. and think of me next time someone gets high centered.

well moving day one has been more of an adventure than needed.
the trailer lost a grease cap
the cat discovered that she could slip her leash/harness by jumping out the car window, furtunately the car was parked
the van had a nice little radiator leak, hope the bars leak holds

but I'm on my way, and haven't met any obstacles I can't overcome

duct tape, a penny, swiss army knife, some chewed bubble gum, and a paper clip will cure all your vehicle needs.

be safe, take pictures, keep smiling.

talk to you soon brice.

I'm safe in mich as of early saturday morning,
friday brought me a flat tire on the tow dolly, and an issue with shifting into reverse and park on the van so we'll be doing a tranny service and replacing the radiator in this van here before I continue on to WA which also means I need to fly out for this hiring conference next week, good news is it means I can take a slow roll from here to WA

don't I wish, unfortunately 4 wheeling with the little car on the dolly behind is not realy an option

did get a few nice pics today as I started getting into the rockies

I left michigan sunday morning and am holed up in bozeman MT tonight no further vehicle problems, but its still slow going with the big trailer and the car behind the jeep, and I have a touch of something nasty making me cough but thats life

well I'm pretty much here,
I can report suprisingly good milage on the jeep 15-18 and not too bad on the big van and trailer (12-15)

a few small leaks but no major mechanical issue since michigan

now I just have to figure out where I'm living this summer

what I want to do is find a nice out of the way campground or private lot to park the trailer in to live for the summer, anyone got family in the western WA area with acarage they ain't usin?

update:

so I got an appartment here east of seattle then two day later got hired by owens corning in portland
so its a good thing I have the trailer to live in for a while. meanwhile Monica and her kids will be cosy in the apt and I will have a place to bring my kids for the weekends here close to thier mums place, but now I have to drag the trailer down and find a parking spot before I start work wich may be as soon as monday.

everything is looking good for the long run but its gonna be an interesting summer for sure

just wanted to post up an update for anyone who cares

I love my job out here at the asphalt plant; its a bit like watchstanding on a steam ship  exept I get to go home every weekend. the total crew at the plant is 15 and the pay is ok right now with a decent prospect of quick advancement (I get to about 23/hour before I start to have to look at replacing a supervisor)

of course spending every weekend with my kids is heavenly, I missed the little buggers a lot.

I'm told there is a lot of moderate wheeling within an hour of my apt so within the next couple of weekends I should be able to send some pics back of my jeep acting like a jeep again.

thats about it for now.
