Title: Hawaii Sucks!
Post by: kirksjeep on October 18, 2013, 09:44:35 AM
So besides the fact that we are still living in a hotel (6 weeks now) due to no housing, explaining to my kids why there is a bum on every street corner, and then explaining why the girls in 8 inch heels and 2 inch skirts keep talking to guys on street corners......but the beaches are nice.

I am trying to get my Liberty registerd here and so far it has been the biggest PITA I have had in all the states I have ever lived in.  The first time I went in for my safety inspection I didn't have the correct insurance card with a stupid watermark that HI requires.  After going downtown and fighting traffic I now have the correct insurance card.

So I go back today for my safety inspection and I am told that becuase I have a lift that I have to get a "Reconstruction" inspection done at another place and they only work by appointments.  I called and I have to wait 2 weeks for my special inspection on my lifted soccer mom mobile.  Before I go to the inspection I have to have an alighnement done within 30 days of the inspection, so the one I had done a few months ago won't count.

The only good thing about all these inspections is that they are only open durring my normal working hours so I get out of work to take csre of it all.

That's too bad that things aren't going smoothly on the transition. It's a nice place to visit and vacation, but I don't think I'd ever want to live out there.

I have yet to hear many good things about military life in Hawaii for family-oriented people. Sorry.
