Ok I'm going to try and paint you guys a picture. I have the hub assembly off with a rotor and wheel spacer attached via 1 wheel stud. That stud, the splines are stripped and nut is on, counter sunk in wheel spacer. How do I get the stud out? I've tried vise grips but head of the stud spins out. Let's hear your ideas
-
what parts are you trying to save?
have you tried to grind the back of the stud off
if you can't get the grinder in there with it assembled you can force the unit bearing apart it will be easy to get the grinder in there and grind the shoulder off
-
I would grind the back of the wheel stud of till it can come threw the front.
-
or if your only trying to save the spacer then weld the stud to the back of the unit bearing!
That's if you have a welder!
-
oh Rock, thats totally a good idea! Now I'm torn bc I was going to go hang out w Will while he ground it off with the dremmel. hmmmm
-
LOL.......
-
If you weld it, good luck replacing it if it ever bends, breaks, or wears out! Cut or grind the bugger!

I welded it from the backside and presto! A new hub and I was good to go ;D
