Title: Spam hitting the board

I know we have been getting hit with some spam the past few days. I'm banning IP addresses and log-in names as soon as I see them. I've done this to 3 just tonight. I just got off the phone with One-Eye a few minutes ago to let him know the situation and he will try to take care of it this week. There is probably a security upgrade that our host server company needs to do to aleviate the problem. If you see spam on the board please don't reply to it. I will try to hit the boards every few hours to delete anything that shows up. All others on the BOD please do the same thing and no spam will be on the board very long for others to see.

i just checked my e-mail,

have we really had almost 20 new members in the past few days. or is that the spam your talking about? i noticed a few of them were spam. but all of them?

A few of the new members were people that came to the TFT run, but I've probably deleted a dozen or so spam members in the past couple days.

yeah, i saw a couple from the tft.

i figured as much that most of them were spam..........

I have been removing the SPAM when gets on the boards.

Thanks Chief. I'll send a PM to Brian to see if he can contact the host company and have our security upgraded. He did some upgrades about a week or so ago, but it looks like it didn't help with the spam. I'll continue to take them out as I see them come up also, but I probably won't be online much until after Christmas.
