I want to change the trans fluid in my TJ on Saturday and all I have is one of those hoses that screw onto the end of a gear lube bottle. I have put fluid in there like that, but there really isn't room and it makes a huge mess trying to tip the bottle up between the frame and control arm. Does anybody have one of those pumps I can use for filling the trans?

yup, i do

Jeremy, you gonna be around Saturday and can I use your garage? It's a lot easier to just do the work there than pick up the pump, drive all the way back to Groton and then drive back out there to return the pump.

I won't be there, but you can use my garage

i have one as well ill bring it to the rally if u want

The rally is on Sunday and I want to get the work done on Saturday, but thanks for the offer. Jeremy, I'll give you a call later this week, but I'll plan on working in your garage on Saturday. Thanks

I won't be back to the area until late morning/ early afternoon, but if you still need one I have one too.

take out the shifter and pour it in from the top. when it pee's out the fill hole it's full. it's what i would do. but i never have a good idea.....

I use a long clear hose and run to up to the brake booster and fill from there.

That's much more work than just borrowing a pump to put it in from the fill hole.

That's not a bad idea. I would only make a mess at the end when fluid starts coming out the fill hole and I still have a hose full of fluid.

I got one up here at the shop

True, but if you looked up the capacity which I think is 3.2 qt and only used that much, and yu used a clear hose you could see when it started to "back up" and you would only have a small spill which you could capture with a couple of rags!
