The trail ride is on for this coming Saturday, the 11th. It is about 2 hours to the trailhead from the Groton area. The plan is to meet at Rocket's house at 8am Saturday morning to convoy up there. Please post up if you plan on going so we can get a head count. If you need directions to Rocket's place you can send a pm to me or him. Let me know if there are any questions.

I'll be there!!!!
For the newer guys, what are the rig requirements? I would guess 31's are ok, but not sure.
-
From what I understand 31s are the minimum rig requirements. Please ensure that you have a tow point front and rear as well as the other requirements as outlined by our club rules. I think this is a good run for the probies to get their feet wet.
-
k, i am game... and hopefully this time i will actually show up! :P
-
Of course I'll be there! Make sure you are gassed up, pack a lunch, and bring all your trail tools/spares.
For probies, keep in mind that there is no guarenteed return time. A breakdown could keep us out there a lot longer than planned. Bring enough food/water to last.
-
Wont be able to make this one since my jeep is still damaged from the last ride. sorry guys/
-
I'm down. ;D

i am in lets break my jeep

Whos the trail boss? What should I be expecting trailwise as far as obstacles/rocks and water crossings? Just like to be prepared, i'll bring my mouthpeice if im going to have to grit my teeth the whole time heh...
-
although you did say good probie run, so Im assuming its not a tough trail ;)
-
The pics I have seen makes it look of rock crawling with several lines. From what I could see, 31's are the min, but 33's and a locker are recomended as well as AAA ;).

gearhead1985, make sure you print out the waiver and bring it with you. Also make sure you rig meets the requirements, tow hooks, spare tire, fire extinguisher, battery tie down etc..... If you can't meet all the requirements send me a PM and we can see what can be done.
I'm looking forward to seeing another YJ out on the trail ;D.

I've been reading some stuff over on EC4WDA and NEOW and from what I can gather 33s are suggested, but 31s are the minimum. The main trail is a lot of rock, but it's not the tall boulders that catch you from underneath a lot and in most places there are several lines to take. There are some offshoots from the main trail that may be more difficult, but I don't know if we'll get into those at all or not.

Anybody else that is planning to go let us know. Everybody make sure you have directions to Jeremy's place and bring your lunch, snacks, water, and vehicle needs. I printed off a trail run form today and the waiver forms for gearhead. I also have good directions to the trailhead so we should be all set.
-
WIllC You have to go man, I want to see those new skids all based up. They're too pretty!!
-
i will be driving to rockets house and going along with adam in his yj to the trail then going to pauls house for the picnic.
-
is it fine if i leave my xj in ur driveway rocket? and i need ur adresss again.
-
Ensure you guys all check your fluid levels, and are topped off w/ gas. we are not stopping for fuel until either close to the trail head or on the way back.
-
don't forget lunches either. haha my mistake last time. ;D
-
adam is who.... cause my name is adam and i have a tj and a nephew named rj :P
-
lmfao! ;D adam is gearhead some random # lol. he works at the hobby shop on base and drives a yj.
-
I'm picking up Sandbox Sailor and his son in the morning as passengers with me. There is a truck stop right when we get off of 91 about 20 minutes from the trailhead so I figure we'll do a bio break, gas and whatever else needs to be done at that point.

We are going to hit a truck stop about 20 min. from the trail head. This will be a good time to hit the head (mens/ little boys room) and get some lunch if you forget one.
Also, I looking for someone with preferable a truck and possibile a trailer (hint, hint Jermey) to lend me a little bed/trailer space for the way up for an 8.8 axle. I have a buyer that is going to meet us at the trail head. I'm going to tow my trailer to Jeremy's house with my YJ, but there is no way I could tow a trailer at high way speeds with the YJ. I need to get a 10" drop hitch and I only have a 4 so it's at a little bit of an angle. ;) If Jeremy can't do it, hopefully one of the XJ guys can hook me up. It's drained of all fluids so it shouldn't smell as bad a Rogers 8.25 ;D
-
worst case senario, if its just the axle... i have no passengers, you can just throw the stuff in my tj, and i will drop it off for you...
call me at about 7:00 am, let me know! that will give me the time to come to yur place and grab it and meet in colchester
-
Any other time, i'd say throw it in the back of betty, but I have 2 passengers so the back seat is down :-[
-
throw it in my trailer when you get here, it's hooked up and ready to roll.
-
wish i could have stayed longer, but you guys know the scoop. hope yur gettin in to trouble, and gettin out of it... great time today, see you guys on monday cruise at ocean beach, i will post pics when i get the chance.
-
good time man, lost a wheel on the way back. we're driving down the highway and adam n i notice the yj driving funny. we're running over all the things that could be wrong and then all of a sudden we see our driver side rear tire go past us and we hit the highway at like 60 mph. changed out the tire after kirk and i found it and kept on trucking pics will be up in a few mins. photo bucket is being slow
-
Great time, thanks for the ride-along fellas. I think they should rename that place "Tick-Gutter" though. I pulled 5 off on the trail, and had 4 more that I found when I got home!
-
i didn't have any on me.
