Title: Hitch mounted D-ring
Post by: smaug1911 on June 01, 2009, 06:54:30 PM
A family member gave me a hitch mounted D-ring as a gift.
I can't use it because of my custom bumper.

Made to fit a 2 inch receiver.
New In Box

up to 10,000 lb rating.

Includes a D-ring also.

$20
I will have it at cruise night and the meeting.

D-ring looks like a beefy shackle....it has the screw-out pin to attach/detach as necessary.

I already have one of those, but there were a couple of the newer guys that were asking about one of these not too long ago. You should be able to sell it quickly.

In the meantime, that hitch alone should be good enough by itself if you tie a strap around it.

Just not as pretty.

You just need a small piece of 5/8" stock, drill a hole in it and weld it to the bumper, instant d-ring mounts!!

the rear bumper is stamped steel, it won't hold up to anything don't even try.  just take a insert with no ball and put the d-ring right through the hole where the ball goes.  lot cheaper then a d-ring mount.  besides d-rings are overrated.  carabiners are the way to go!!

LMFAO. if i remember right they wont even hold your body. but the idea of the ball insert minus the ball should work.
