Scott/roger/jeremy or anyone else,
I was wondering where you guys got your steel from. I got a quote for a piece of 2'x4' 1/4" for $177. I thought that was kinda high but maybe not. Do you guys have any secrect suppliers that might sell for less?
Thaks

I forgot, Rodger ordered the steel we built his bumper with from a website and had it shipped and it was cheaper than getting locally!
The only place I know of and have only gotten quotes from have been a place called Mid-City Steel in Bozrah(860-240-0201) and a place on Cross road in Waterford called Crown Manufacturing(860-442-4325). There's a place in Groton but I haven't talked with them so I couldn't refer you either way on them. They are called Stapleton Steel(860-445-1200). But here's what Google brought up: Steel Suppliers near Waterford (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Steel+Suppliers%3E+Waterford%2C+CT&btnG=Search)

I think this is where I got mine from.

What are you looking for? I have a 4 or 5 foot tall piece of 1/8" walled 2x2 left from my build if you need it.

I got mine from crown manufacturing, but they don't like to make orders of individual peices smaller than 24'. I got lucky w/ them. But if they have it in stock, it's not a prob. they dont' usually have stuff that we use in quantities we need.

i still recommend logan steel in meriden, they're great to deal with, resonable, and they'll sell ya anything from 24 gauge to 2" thick.

Steve, Let me know where you end up getting your steel from. My 1" body lift is already here, and my 1" MML should be here tomorrow. After I locate/ install a 97-99 TJ head pipe, I will be looking to make a Belly skid and an engine skid. Are you going to mount the tranny to the skid like the stock one, or are you going to make a separate mount that bolts to the frame using bushings? I am leaning towards making a separate mount so I can ditch the stock tranny mount and so when I drop the skid I don't have to support the tranny/transmission.
I am also going to need some steel for a gas tank skid, but I might try to find a stock skid, and double it up like in JP mag. The one difference I am going to make, is to lift the tank 1" since I will have the room with the body lift. I found out the hard way at BTC, every inch of clearance helps.
