Title: awesome deal on Black+Decker Drill
Post by: smaug1911 on April 03, 2009, 09:24:00 PM
I picked up a B+D VPX cordless drill today.
These are lithium-ion rechargeable and run off 2 batteries.
The whole set comes with the drill, 2 batteries, charger, and bits.

Black+decker at the Westbrook, CT outlet (exit 65) has these marked at $24.98.....
but they are 30% off of that price. So about $17.50.

That is the cost of 1 replacement VPX battery!

sweeet

I forgot...regular price is like $80+
Online price is about $40+

But here is the best part...

The entire store is having a 30% sale on items whose price ends in "8"
e.g. $24.98

This ends up being about 1/3 of the entire store. Great place to pick up extra drill bits and power tools at a sale off the "outlet" price.

I got a Ryobi set as well, needs MORE new batteries for it tho. I seem to cook them fairly quick. $40-50 for a pair!

I'll stick w/ my 18v dewalt.  teh xrp batteries last a lot longer than the hour it take to charge them.  plus it drill through 1/2" steel w/o a problem :D

Lot of work to get a frame into a drill press tho! lol I got my wife a 12v dewalt use a few years ago, It's a bit heavy for her, but I LOVE it!! I honestly think it has more power then the 18v ryobi, and I KNOW the battery lasts longer. Too bad the motor is smoking itself to death.

actually i built a jig for my drill press so i could use it sideways.  works pretty damn good.

it is now, i can rotate the drill press 360 degrees and made a clamp to mount to frames works pretty good.
