looks awesome great job, how long did it take to get the axle in, mike and i r going to be swapping my old 8.25 into his xj.
-
it took us 30 hours total because we did u-joints and seals, running new brake line, trying to figure out how to get a shorter drive shaft, having one custom welded., helping out other morons in the shop, fast food/cigarette runs, and part store/junk yard runs. But that didn't include the skids and sliders. I would say if you stay focused and have everything you need with you maybe 5 hours. The drum brakes really screwed us up also. For whatever reason, we couldn't get the drum to fit over the shoes on one side untill we took it all apart and did it again. There were lots of unexpected snags, and we were sleep deprived also. All in all a good learning experience and a good time. Just be ready with a shorter DS!!!

This is a Jeep thing. Get used to it. No matter how what you are doing and even if you think the job is routine something will go wrong.

yep

where did u get a shorter drive shaft out of.
-
We had to cut it and have it rewelded. Paul W did it. But we had been at the junk yard (Deans in New London) and they had a few still under cherokees that were 29''. Mine was 31 1/2''. It would fit in but the slip yoke had no play in it. It would have grenaded my junk as soon as I hit a pothole or flexed. I think the 29'' may have worked but it seemed too short at the time.

wow i have some catching up to do on mine. even the stockish jeeps are all set up. looks really good though duece good job.

Thanks mang

yeah i have my lift on but i don't wanna take any pictures because with the cut flares, 4.5" lift, and 235 tires on there it looks STUPID!!!

You mean it probably looks like my XJ did when I stripped everything off it to drive to Michigan and turn it in this past July. I felt stupid driving it like this all the way to Michigan.

Roger, i hope you wore a mask, or at least a hat and dark glasses!!!

haha pretty close to that. those are 1 size smaller tires than i have on and wasn't that a 4.5" lift also? and remember that i have cut flares so yeah about the same haha. i feel silly driving it.

Roger had a 6.5'' lift
