Scott finished building my bumper about 2 weeks ago, but because of vacation I didn't get a chance to get it painted and installed. With this gorgeous weekend I went ahead and painted it yesterday and installed it today. It turned out great. Thanks Scott. I kept it as simple as possible and didn't want to put d-rings on it because the rear bumper mounts to sheet metal in the back rather than any type of frame and I already have a receiver hitch for pulling off of. All I need it to do is hold the tire. I'm very happy that it only sits about 1" from my tailgate so it's tucked in nice and close.

I figured I'd continue with my silver to contrast the blue like I did on my sliders and below the trim on both sides. Plus, I only need to stock 1 color of touch up paint.

Sorry, that was the last thing before I get outta here. I have 6 weeks until my ceremony and then the whole pack out thing so I'm pretty much done. I still need to finish my own sliders for the FJ!

Does it rattle Roger? Come loose or anything else that worries you? How's the visibility?

I've only driven it a few miles to work and back, but it hasn't rattled at all. The visibility is better than what I expected so I'm very happy with that. I did check it when I got home and the latch had loosened a little bit, but was still holding the swingout. I'm going to continue checking it each time I drive. We may have to do a little adjustment in order to keep some pressure on the handle. I was even thinking about a spring to mount between the handle and the 2x2 going up that could keep some pressure on it, but I'll see what it does over the next couple days.

Did I mention I really don't like that handle??? LOL >:(

Nope, I will be locked in the front and have long arms before I even think about going to bigger tires and I doubt if I'll put that kind of money into my XJ. With summer coming I'm really wanting to get back into a softtop.

What kind of specs do you want Jon??
The main bumper is 2"x4" .250 wall and the swingout is 2"x2" .187 wall (3/16"). Weighs about 70lbs as a whole unit. The hinge and latch come from EMS Off Road (http://emsoffroad.com/shop/) (I just looked at their site and they don't have the hinge listed anymore??? I'm guessing maybe they are out right now)
