ok im going to get this http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_4.html. with the replacement leaf springs and the 900 shocks upgrade. should i get the control arm drop kit? where should i buy tires from, online or at a goodyear or something? can i still use my current rims? i'm only going 31's for tire size though. what else do i need/should i get? on a very slime budget still though so any imput would be greatly appreciated thnx guys.
-
buy the kit with the replacement springs. you'll want them. add-a-leaves have a tendency to work themselves sideways and rub through your $190 a piece mtr's. and I still think you should go rubicon express. rough country sucks. they're springs are too stiff.
-
here's a complete 3.5 for 584.95. springs and everything from rubicon express.. 3.5 will be MORE then enough for 31's, and with some light trimming on the corners of your fenders, then 32's.

Advanced? auto zone? napa? If you get the measurements they can usually get you whatever you need.
-
o ok. i figured that it'd be better to buy like a specific kind or whatever. kk. well that seems abit more in price range so then i guess the whole idea changed again ;D now what about tires? im gonna run the 31's. should i buy online or go to like goodyear?

i don't have paypal but thnx alot. i was thinking i was going to be sitting somewhere around 1800 after all is said and done, now im looking at like 1500 max.
-
Those rims are 15x8 so any 31x10.5x15 will work just fine. The BFG ATs on my XJ came from Sears. I wanted the free tire rotations and balancing as well as a warranty if I put a hole in them and Sears is everywhere. It's actually the only place I could find that is in Michigan and Connecticut.

you can still get the road hazard, and they're in pretty much every state

Except his next duty station, Hawaii. I just looked it up and there are plenty of Sears stores out there. I used Pep Boys when I lived in North Carolina, but when I lived in Michigan there wasn't one within 100 miles of me so I went to Discount Tire. I like Discount Tire, but there are none of those out here so I ended up going to Sears. If you're not worried about road hazard warranties or free balancing and rotations you can get some good deals on used tires. Some of them can be nearly new when people buy a vehicle and change tires as soon as they leave the lot.
-
i'd just be happy with this junk coming out of my garage.
-
haha i give u something to do 2 keep from being bored ;D
-
If you are one budget, check craigslist for tires and the lift. I have seen a few XJ lifts on craigslist, some new, some used. Since my YJ is a TOY, I have time to look for good deals. Check out http://sisoffroad.com/forums/ in their for sale section. SiS is majority XJ guys and they are always unloading stuff.
-
try naxj also.
-
eh, i figured that was one of the things i should buy brand new but if i can get away with a used one then that'll work.
-
my input come to hobby shop with lots of sawsall blades start cutting on your xj keep cutting untill it fits in the metal dumpster then go buy a old beat up cj or yj
-
well if i had to choose between the 2 i'd go with a cj. just like those better. but i still owe money on the xj so i gotta run with this for awhile.
-
but that pos would look sooooooooo much better in a thousand little pieces
-
atleast it runs..... sry that may have been a low blow. ;D

i shall come buy tomorow to the shop adam to hopefully get my bumper back on. btw i went down a dirty road... VERY dirty jeep again.
-
i've never had problems with torx head bolts. Snap-On tools makes a great set of impact ones that bite into any rusted bolt.
-
yeah those snap on tools are amazing. need to buy me a set or 2
