I can get these filled up as long as the last hydrotest was done within 3 years.
cheeks, one-eye???
-
Thanks Reg.
-
I'll see the guy sunday, drop off the tanks before then and I'll get them filled somtime the begining of next week.
-
that's a sweet deal. good looking out. i was looking at getting a power tank.
but it was either that or get belly skid, and front bumper
i think i am getting the latter.
-
anyone know if thoes 5 or 7 gal portable air tanks hold enough air to re-inflate a tire or set a bead? They are a LOT cheaper ($20) than a power tank or even a AC compressor conversion.
-
yeah, I'm using one of the walmart 5gal ones, seems to be about enough to top off all 4 tires after airing down.
-
ok, cool. Thats all i need to do. I just need enough air go get from the trail end to my trailer.
-
yeah, instead of buying some sort of fancy air system, I bought a $20 portable tank, and a $40 12v dc compressor that so far seems to be more than strong enough to fill the tank
-
cool. i've got the 12v air compressor. i'll look out for a tank
-
Scott just got ahold of ARB today, and told them about my air compressor problems. They are going to fix it for free, if I send it to them, or they are going to send me all the parts if we wanna do it ourselves...Apparently it must have over-heated at one time or another and melted some valve inside (which sucks).
But after losing the air compressor once at Vanes and not being able to lock up OR air up after...I think I am going to have to look into buying a power tank or something for that "just in case" situation to air back up...
Should I do what you guys are doing? Is that the best/cheapest/easiest solution?
-
any scott pack (firefighter air) power tank, or even scuba tank will hold around 3000psi, all you need is the regulator... usally these can be found cheap, just pay attention to the hydro-test date, they are only good for 3 years.

ty
*adds yet another thing to my "list"*

-
just small stuff, I'm not doing the body color until spring. I've been doing some rust control in the engine compartment and fenderwellls, tirewells, etc
-

I checked Ebay and found a tank for 59 bucks w/ free shipping. New, 10 year cert, and its a 10lb bottle, like the powertanks...
-
where is the link... this sounds good. not only can we all sport bad apple diff covers, but bastardized scott air tanks too. ;D
-
reg, do you want to see if your friend can hook us up still.
-
I know he can. I'll set up a day with him tomarrow. I'll post a "fill date"
-
i knowthe same guy, not to steal your thunder donny,
he said as long as they were within thier periodisity/hydro, there would be no issues.
P.S. an as long as they had the right fittings
