Title: WTB: Scrap steel to fabricate rear tow points
Post by: smaug1911 on October 26, 2008, 05:24:43 AM
Looking for some heavy duty steel that I could cut, drill, and weld to my bumper to make some good tow points. I'd like to put a shackle through it.

Anybody have something like that for free or cheap?

Thickest I got is 1/4"...Not necessarily what you're looking for. I'd suspect you need something at least 1/2" or better...I think you can find them online for around 40 bucks though...

yeah...I'm just seeing what people have.

Theoretically, my bumper is an acceptable for towing, but I would like something better.

I have some 1/2x2 and 1/2x4 flat bar that should work pretty well. About how much do you think you need?
