Title: help with the 8.8 install
Post by: Big Chuck on May 27, 2015, 01:07:10 AM
So I was curious if anybody would mind coming to my place on Saturday June 6th to help install the 8.8 rear, swap the front dana 30 and with the SYE? I do believe I have everything needed to do the swap. If anybody is available I would appreciate it.

I have to attend the NOVA meeting on the 6th but I can rebuild/install the SYE once it's out!

If the following weekend is better, that also works for me.

Ok, so this Saturday if anybody is available to lend a hand I am going to start ripping apart the jeep in prep of the 8.8 install, maybe even get the brackets tack welded on and ready for a final burn in. If anybody is available to come by and lend a hand I would appreciate it. One of the first things to do will be dropping the transfer case in preparation for Rock to install the SYE.
Thanks,
Chuck

I was able to get quite a bit done this weekend also. Locker installed/ Lube Locker Gasket/ Solid Diff cover. Got the rear bolted in, shortened the driveshaft installed the flange adapter. Next to plumb the brakes and all that fun stuff, then onto the front axle. Thanks to Ed and my buddy Sean, and again thanks to everybody here for giving me a hand with the YJ.

Ok so, just a quick update. 8.8 (4.10 gearing) is installed with an Aussie locker, Dana 30 (4.11 gearing) Installed with a Lokka locker, SYE installed, CV driveshaft cut to fit (New One on its way) The Jeep is back on the road and with a little tweak here and there over the weekend seems to be Good to Go. Just going to do a little woods testing and then some other general housekeeping issues, Mohawk here we come!

Thank you everyone that lent a hand and made it happen, you guys are the best!
