rear axle upgrade

Anybody looking to beef up from a 35? i talked to axle & called a couple junkyards & found a ford explorer 8.8" rear assy w/disc brakes for $250. 4wd.com sells the super 88 kit for $620, just saw the same kit on 4wd groupbuy for $499.95. Zak.........

i have to go with a 44 rear due to the third link in the rear connecting to a skid plate around the pumpkin and the skid plates are only made for 35's and 44's     (i will send another email to aev requesting the design get drawn up)  but if you could find a 44 out of a rubicon or sahara that would be much more productive  (or give me the numbers for the junkyards and i will do it)

We could probably make you a bracket for the third link to fit it to the 8.8.

if i wanted to i probably could  (got a few connections on lower base)  but i just filled out some parts requests for some salvage yards in CT to start from that end

Check car-part.com for axles.  I found an 8.8 with 4.10 in North Providence for $150 and if you don't care about the stock gears, there are some with 3.73 up RT 9 for about the same price.  Much easier upgrade for a YJ.
