Introducing our photo submission program: a new way of improving our site with the help of faithful customers and Jeep enthusiasts that also pays with some choice benefits in the process.
How it Works
Participating in photo submission is fun and easy!
Submit a photo of any product listed on our site
Received images undergo review and approval
Accepted images to be featured on product page
For each photo accepted, you receive $5 off your next purchase ($10 minimum purchase)
Getting Started
You can start submitting photos using the “Submit your image†link shown on individual product pages.
Please keep in mind that there are several standards that must be followed in order for us to accept your images.
Here are the minimum requirements for all image submissions:
The product must be the focal point on the image.
The file must be in .jpg, .gif, or .png format
The file size must not be larger than 4MB
The image must be at least 300x300 pixels
Beyond these standards, it’s all up to your personal creativity; however, keep in mind that we are after a certain look with regard to image submissions.
Here are a few examples of acceptable photos, as well as what we look for in photo submissions:
Clean view of the product in question
Product is shown installed or in use
Specific product features highlighted
Photos are well-lit and plainly visible
Image is generally useful to customers
If your image is accepted, you will be notified via e-mail.
Need Help Taking Good Photos?You need not be a professional photographer to submit images, but it certainly can’t hurt!
But for our everyday photographers, here are a few quick tips to assist you with taking and preparing the best images possible:
Adjust Your Positioning
Get down low, move up close, or position yourself however is necessary in order to get that perfect shot. Particularly when it comes to shooting objects, the proper positioning is crucial.
Mind the Background
Flashy or busy backgrounds can often draw focus away from the primary object. We recommend having a plain, single-toned background that helps emphasize the object being focused.
Experiment with Flash or No Flash
For daytime outdoor photos, using a flash can sometimes lighten dark shadows. Conversely, using no flash at night can create a cleaner picture provided there is sufficient ambient lighting.
Lock the Focus
Most modern digital cameras utilize an auto-focus mode that can keep you from getting the focus you’d like. Put your camera on manual focus and lock it when you get that perfect shot.
Stuck in the Middle
Photos with the object centered aren’t always the best ones. Experiment with different angles and perspectives, but don’t forget to make the object plainly visible. Also remember to lock the focus.
Know Your Flash Range
Flash photos taken from too far away often come out too dark or distorted. Check your camera’s flash range in your instruction manual to get a better idea of what an appropriate range might be.
Lighten Up
Avoid direct overheard sunlight photos, as they cast more striking shadows. Early or late daytime photos are best for achieving proper lighting, and make sure to be mindful of angles and shadows.
Command Your Photoshoot
No one gets that perfect picture with just one shot. Play around with different props, angles, backgrounds, and arrangements. It’s better to be an active photographer than a passive one.
