cold air and squealing pig

<< < (2/2)

footman:
Thanks guys, I'll look into it.

Gastank:
WATER PUMP!!!!
just a thought... you have no defroster heat.... serp belt squeals.... heater core just gets hot coolant from the water pump...
might be an indication that your water pump is on it's way out, or that there's an air pocket in those lines.
Just .02 of course

rocket:
shouldn't be an air pocket, the radiator cap is usually the highest point in the system.  Though i've been wrong before

mallcrawl:
speaking of air bubbles, one of my buddies in sandiego had a cherokee that we had to lift the front end of on ramps and fill the raditor while running the motor at about 2k to get all the air out.

calvynandhobbs:
My 89 XJ has a closed cooling system so when I replaced my radiator I had to lift the rear end and open a valve that sits behind the back of the valvecover to clear the air bubbles. If anything ever goes wrong with my cooling system again I'm going to convert it to a normal cooling system.
