i am disappointed in it.

the skids are like tinfoil still, should up grade bumpers to (at a minimum) arb's front and rear, rock rails are absolute junk, all weather mats = whatever, electronic mirrors = way more expencive to replace, bilstines should be swaped for a coil over lift for the price they are charging. there is so much that toyota can do and i would pay for it. but it's cheaper to ge a base model and then add it all your self.

It's not just toyota, Jon...  A lot of other manufacturers are like that.  The only one's imo that really give you what you pay for are the Rubicon and the Hummers.  Everyone else's "upgraded" or "supreme" packages are junk that you get way over charged for.

i know, but were talking about toyota. and thier "up grades".

i agree. i was just commenting on what youd really get.

w/ the TRD offroad package, you do get some good stuff, like the rear locker.  the bilstine shocks, wheels, skids, clutch bypass, 4.10 gears are all nice, too.  Unfortunatly Toyota markets it to regular people more so than real wheelers.  jon doe would't pay the extra for real skids, sliders, coil-overs, etc, esp. since they all add weight (slower, less mpg). 

I do have to say that w/o having a TRD, i probably wouldn't have gotten into the sport (bought my truck to drive, not wheel).  Its a good starting point right off the shelf.
