Opinions Needed
« on: May 20, 2013, 09:25:32 PM »
My wonderful wife told me that she wants to get me an air compressor for Father's Day / my birthday since they are only a week apart. She told me about it since she has no idea what I'd want. I'm thinking 30 gallon capacity and oil lube such as the link below. What are you guys' opinions on what I need for an air compressor? Nate already gave me his input and I think this is what he was thinking.

and you have to have one of these to go with it.

Check out your air tools and see what CFM they need to operate, sand blasting needs a high CFM as well as many other air tools.

The only air tools I have are a weak impact gun from harbor freight, an air chuck for inflating tires and a little blower thing for blowing dust off of things. I've never invested in air tools since I've had the same 2 gallon pancake compressor for over 10 years now. First step is the compressor and then the tools behind it.

get the biggest she will buy you when doing alot with an impact grinder ect you will get tired of it cycling on and off i recommend atleast 80 gallon and the biggest pump you can afford

my 1/2" drive air cat can drain the tank in less than a minute with a 1/2" air line

we are currently adding a 125 gallon tank in parralle with the 80 gallon
